Oooh, awesome.

I just found a yoga book/CD I could actually stand and it's on Yin Yoga too. It's called The Yin Yoga Kit. It comes with like, a set of cards with the positions (that you can use to make up your own sequence), and a CD of a very nice sounding man leading you through the positions, and various variations you can do depending on your body and how it works.

Of course, I still only used it once. Sigh.

Going to check out your DVD now...

=)

Hey

Yup, I'm also all YAY for Yoga.
And, don't think you're nuts for attributing all sorts of "sort outs" to it.

In fact, here in Johannesburg, South Africa, everybody's been crying for rain.
For our youga class the other night we did all the salutes (moon, sun, earth...) for the rain. (It was the closest thing to a rain-dance that our teacher could think of).
And, the next day the summer rains started!

All smiles,
Juliet

@Nathan - Oh, my dear! Sorry to have left you out this time. But we'll breathe together. Yay breathing! Also known as "real yoga"!

And I wrote a whole post just for you on the Shiva Nata blog (goes up tomorrow!).

@Ian - That's awesome. Paul is so genius. I love the yoga anatomy dvd to pieces and wish that it was required viewing for ALL yoga teachers. especially for the ones who follow the "just go deeper" school of thought. *cough-iyengar-ashtanga-anusara-cough*

But really it's a must for anyone who does anything with his (or her) body. Brilliant. Yay!

@Everyone who sent me a QUESTION about it - hahahahaha, I shoulda known I'd never be able to get out of writing SOME sort of FAQ.

So .... tomorrow we're talking about taking the scary out of blogging part 3, but sometime this week I'll answer everyone, promise!

Hey, Havi I love you're authentic, goofy, totally you, style of writing! I totally agree with you that yoga is awesome, but yoga culture could use a little re-vamping. I did my teacher training at Kripalu, in August of this year and had a blast! We had Paul Grilley come in for one of our lectures, which was way cool. His dvd on yoga anatomy is totally worth getting, I'm so glad that I saw it because learning how your skeleton can be radically different from others, is a life saver. So many yoga styles don't account for this and people often get hurt trying to force themselves into postures that their body will never be able to do properly.
Someone in our class made a song using samples from his dvd, which was hilarious, because we were all make jokes about "tension" and "compression."
Have fun taking his class!
Go non-sucky yoga!

Oh that I had the spoons to handle yoga like that. I am starting to get into learning some yoga nidra, though, which should be just as exciting - albeit in a different form.

Hope everyone grabs their copy early, with the growing Havi Harem on Twitter this'll surely sell out in no time.
