[...] You have to be aware you are using it, and what you are saying. People will know where you are which led to the rise of certain site such as Please Rob Me. Certain twitter applications will show you exactly where people are when they are tweeting which can be quite creepy – people who are concerned about their online presence should be aware. However, one blog that is good to read which gives a great counter argument to Please Rob Me is here.
I had to come back and find this post....

I was on twitter recently (Hi, my name is Melinda and I'm a twitter addict) and noticed a comment from a guy about going to his grandmother's 100th birthday party the next day.

The interesting thing was that I'd been at my daughter's school assembly earlier that day, and overheard the guy two seats up talking about a 100th birthday party. I had to ask if it was him....

Yes, it was the same guy! I had sat two seats away from someone I sort of knew on twitter!

So while I'm pretty sure he's not a burglar the point is that as twitter grows, and we extend our networks, the chances of meeting someone irl that we know on twitter increases. And they possibly won't all be as honest as my new friend.

<abbr><em>Melindas last blog post..<a href="http://wahmbizbuilder.com/other-stuff/interviews/grieving-what-we-cant-have-an-interview-at-someday-syndrome/" rel="nofollow">Grieving What We Can't Have - An Interview at Someday Syndrome</a></abbr></em>

One more reason I heart wandering around in the Fluent Self archives. :)

Plus there's a moral at the end of the story - oh joy! It's like I'm watching cartoons as a kid again. (They don't make them like they used to you know).

P.S. Don't re-watch cartoons you watched as a kid. So much money wasted on DVD sets based on nostalgic childhood memoies which are now tainted forever more.

Ha! If I were your burglar, I would totally take the soap...and the rainwater...and the linguistics books and yoga theory DVDs. :)

That's the problem with burglars nowadays--they totally lack good taste in DIY and non-fiction.

@Naomi I'm *way* ahead of you, ms. think-she's-better-than-everyone-at-marketing.

In fact, I've already grabbed the domain for the new Twitter Stalker Burglar social networking site that will rock the TSB world, as they're calling it. But we should probably just join forces or something before you one-up me again.

@Melle My motto: Have duck, will travel.

Actually not even sure if the Berlin Yoga Festival people even know that I'm coming too. It's quite likely that they think they've engaged Selma to appear all by herself.

@ Melle -- I think she's bringing the duck. Maybe she could get a decoy?

Oh, and Havi? Obviously I am a far better internet marketer than you because when you said the burglar could alert his friends in other states, my first thought was "KICKBACKS, BABY!" Let's get a burglar affiliate referral program. There's money to be made here, people.

Quick question: When I make the quinoa, how many cups of quinoa per cup of water? That one always confuses me. The last house I stole, er, borrowed from had instructions on the cupboard above the stove.

Thanks!

P.S. Do you think the police are watching me on Twitter? I'm a little nervous about that.
