I'm sooo glad you said this at the end Havi: "...it’s a super hard topic. Lots of trigger-ey stuff.Especially when there is stuff we want on our list that we can’t justify having there yet."

Epiphany here....I am having a really hard time coming up with any dammits I can justify. I loved reading the dammits that others have. This sovereignty thing you wrote about and how its connected to the velvet ropes concept really intrigued me, and so I'm thinking you know what, I think I don't have any velvet ropes....could that be? Has life and compromises I've made to go along and get along and take the path of what I thought was least resistance, taken down the velvet ropes lining the walkway to my fabulous life?

I'm going to think about getting those ropes back up then dammit! I am going to take the time to think on this dammit! At the heart of this my no dammits conundrum has helped me see something about where I want to be heading....and maybe a clue of how to get there.

This is so in line with my determination to not be made to feel guilty about things. The upside is that I try really hard not to do things that I would feel guilty for doing. The downside is that I apologize way more quickly and often than I used to. (It's easy for me to dig my heels in when guilt's involved.)

So many of the items on the lists here sound like lessons learned, and it makes me sad to think about what we go through to learn those lessons. My anti-guilt stance comes of having a guilt-wielding ex-spouse who tried really, really hard to make me feel bad about things--the longest fights were when I just...didn't feel bad, and he couldn't make me.

I will spend joyful times in ways that make me feel joyful, dammit.

I will value time spent caring for myself, dammit.

I will not accept emergency status for non-emergency projects, dammit.

Yeah, that's a good start.

I love this post, dammit
I stand for literacy, dammit

I talk to Miss April, my dog about what to wear early morning, dammit
She answers, dammit
I embrace my ADHD without medication, just meditation, dammit
I make perfume, do hypnotherapy, educate autistic and gang kids and don't have a website yet, dammit
I love connecting everything. dammit
