Thank you - I have been trying to find the strength, willpower, what have you, to focus more on healthy habits (yoga, meditation, exercise) and less on the not-so-healthy ones (excessive amounts of tea/coffee, desserts, laziness).

You hit the nail on the head with the criticism ->pain -> craving -> break cycle, though I would mix in a little bit of pure habit at times (particularly the sweets after dinner). I now will focus on self-talk and some of the other techniques to hopefully, with moderate success, follow in your footsteps!

LOVe the way you talk about this - I call those cruel self-habits shadow comforts and time monsters, habits that eat our pain up but don't really, habits that pretend to comfort us but only leave us feeling worse.

LOVE how you write about this issue!!!
