It is amazing to what extent I have been involved in using computers from the late 70's to the present and more amazing to see the impact on people during this period of time.

Yes, create a balance -- because there are more exciting things to do beyond that, like for instance, follow your thirst for knowledge and spirituality and apply it to your own life: how do things fit together, where do I fit in, and then finally.... helping others in a good way.

Oh yeah, like we don't know what's good. C'mon, give me a break.

So its good to shut off on the emails -- hey its nice to have a turn on and off button that we control either by our remote or just by getting up and doing it.... whatever way, it's nice to say: "Hey, I'm going to go outside now and sit in my favorite chair and watch the plants in my yard." You'd be amazed. A natural sit-down break only lasts about 15 or 20 minutes before I am ready to go on with the rest of my day.

But what about all the letters from Nigerians who want to give you millions? Seems like a fiscally irresponsible move to ignore them.

As a result of your amazing and awe-inspiring year of living e-mail-less, I have decided to go internet-less tomorrow morning. I've decided to give me the best and most creative hours of my day. It's a wee baby step but feels important.

So, deep thank you for your example with that! xoxo

As a result of your email sabbatical, I decided to make some changes for myself. Now, when I get an email that's convoluted or hard-to-reply-to, I just pick up the phone. It blows people away.

I'm also planning a new product about decluttering that's (get this) sent in the actual mail and written in my own hand. Okay, so the second part might be a little scary.

My theory: The new technology is low-tech. And if I'm right, what a freaking relief.

Hugs to you, Havi!
