Nothing smart to say here, except when I get told to breathe -- and with a panic disorder, that happens quite a lot -- I always think that the only thing I want to breathe is a Valium inhaler.

Can somebody please explain to me why Valium doesn't come in an inhaler format?

Right on. Yay for moving the body in wacky ways, and giving your neighbors something to talk about.

Thanks, Vanessa. And also thanks for not throwing a dish at me! *tries not to make duck pun*

I love this post! Being from the holistic health world myself, I too am guilty of telling people to take a deep breath. And, of course, when I'm stressed I'd rather throw a dish or two - sometimes at the person who told me to breath :-).

What I found to be helpful beyond the breathing, or rather, to let myself be able to breathe more consciously is to move my body in some wacky way. It releases all that stored up tension that was created from the stress. Plus it's entertaining.

Love your site, and style.
